Tools-day: Fein Multi-Master

Posted by aaron on May 3, 2005 3:01 PM

Put this one in the jack-of-all-trades box. The Fein Multi-Master can be used for "sanding, scraping, sawing, rasping, cutting, slicing, and grout removal." Choose it over other sanders (orbital, belt, et. al) when you want to sand out those particularly tight corners. Jeannie just picked one up for our own woodworking projects so we'll eventually have a review to share over on HouseInProgress, too.

I love mine! You can get all sorts of attachments including a concrete vibrator (for concrete countertops, perhaps?) I also recommend the sanding pads with velcro for easy removal.

Wow, you guys have all the high end tools. I've heard of using a sawzall as a concrete vibrator. It looks like a handy tool, I don't know about replacing a belt sander though. I hear the blades are outrageously expensive.

We got a deal through Amazon. They had a sale awhile ago that made the purchase worthwhile! It really cuts down on the amount of time hand sanding close work. Which we have a ton of. Ack.

I dont know, jm, if it were me I'd have gone for the table saw first. You could just about get one for the price of a Fein... :)

But then again, it's been YOU working on those window mouldings, eh?

Right Nick ;) And it was my gift certificate from my b-day to Amazon. I love Aaron enough to make him some sawhorses...but he's saving his allowance pennies for the table saw!
