Today we're launching an upgrade here at houseblogs.net... an interactive map of all the Houseblog member sites! Click here to check out the houseblogs map, version 2.0! The map builds on the great work Jeannie started here with the first version of the map, but takes advantage of the newly released Google Map API to make it interactive. (Special thanks to John for help with the coding.) A note to housebloggers: If you don't like the coordinates I've used for your site, email an alternate latitude and longitude to webmaster (at) houseblogs (dot) net. (You can use this site to determine the latitude & longitude of any US address.) I'm hoping to allow self-service modifications to the coordinates through the member admin panel in the near future... |

Why aren't people in the Rocky Mountain region blogging about their houses? Surely someone must be doing house work in that area! Maybe I'll suggest to my brother-in-law that he should start a blog tonight :)

I can't believe we're the only Canadians. Where does it point on the map exactly, the centre of the city?

Derek - For each, I went to the center of the city and then used the address of a restaurant close by. If you'd like it to point to something else just let me know.

Jocelyn - Woops, I'd placed you in Seattle. Woops. You're back in Chicago now.

I don't see myself listed in Indiana.

Aaron, I was just curious about where it pointed. I wouldn't want people to know exactly where we live anyways

Very cool. I've discovered others that I didn't know were close to Seattle! Thanks for keeping this site up to date and so user friendly!

Aaron--the coordinates for Bungalow, Sweet Bungalow and This Old (Hall) House should be the same and here's correct coordinates:
Latitude 45.589239°
Longitude -122.759309°
(you have us about 10 miles too far to the east on one and 5 miles too far east and south on the other...but really, not bad for a non-native! :)
Thanks so much for making the awesome housebloggers map even more awesome! I am seriously in awe of you both.

Also...Kenton House s/b a little further east and north of us and Hillsdale House should be where you currently have Kenton House.
Not sure about a nearby intersection for Hillsdale but for Kenton, a good approximation will probably be the intersection of N. Denver Ave. and N. Interstate Ave. (that's where the Paul Bunyan statue is that they've got posted in their photos section).
